Twenty eight and one half hours..not so dramatic

That's how long I was awake yesterday and into today....nice.
In that time, I:
-Was a first responder to an accident (everyone is ok)
-Ran a marathon (26.2 miles in 4:45:15, not what I wanted, but I finished)
-Worked the graveyard shift (11pm to 7am)

What did I learn?
-Sometimes faith takes you places you never thought possible...which is a GO(O)D thing
-1 Thessalonians 5:6--So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled

Thanks for your prayers during this time.

Out of my skin...as usual

I'm trying to finish packing for DC this weekend. Let's see...pre-race and post-race clothes, alternate race clothes, gel packs, Udderly Smooth, Band-Aids, Marker....look, it's a running thing...you wouldn't understand. This happens everytime before a race...I'm ready to run NOW!!! Am I crazy for thinking that 26.2 miles isn't very far?....haha....rookie, you have no idea. Please pray for me...updates will come later on what just might be the longest day of my life....awesome.

Joe's personal ad

"Single Christian male (SCM) seeks single Christian female (SCF) to love as Christ loved the church, to give himself up for her to make her holy, to love as he loves himself (Eph. 5). SCF must be absolute physical knockout (no one scoring below 9.0, please), must love to talk politics and sports, and must possess a laundry list of pre-decided personal characteristics so completely that SCM is convinced no better option could possibly be available within the next decade."

Any day that ends in "Y"

People are saved everyday, not just on Sunday. I pray for the lost people that I know, and the ones I don't. It's amazing to think the day I accepted Christ, someone was praying for me. Who was it...I don't know. Whether it was privately (Matthew 6:6-But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.) or in church ( James 5:16-Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.)
For someone who's as selfish as I am, that's hard to get over, and I pray that I never do. I'm sure it comes as a surprise to some people when you tell them that you're praying for them. Probably one of the greatest acts of service we could do for each other.

Have You Seen This Boy?

I'd really like to talk to this kid... I haven't seen him in quite a long time. First thing I'd say...Man, who dresses you, your mom? (But then, why ask questions you already know the answer to!)
I'd want to sit down with him and listen to what he has to say, without saying too much. Take him outside and throw a ball around. I'd ask him about Jesus....what he thinks he'd be doing in twenty years...maybe who his girlfriend is.
I wouldn't tell him of what's to come, but I'd tell not him to worry, it's going to be alright.
