"Leave me wishin' still for one more day....with you"

Wow...I'm still in awe of the day that was yester. Lanna picked me up 'round nine; I knew about this day for some time now, and was excited about what she had in store for us. Of course, my mind raced about what we were going to do for about...oh....a month, and, of course, she blew me away with what we did. Oh, the suspense....in the car....thinking...Lanna...WHERE ARE YOU TAKING ME???? Be patient....(1st Corinthians 13:4....Thanks God)
So, we arrive at Camp Greenville, way up near the border betixt the Carolinas. Drive a little bit further out to Pretty Place. Ya'll who've been there know what I'm talking about...if not, check out the Flickr page for pics. I don't think that place has ever seen a bad day!! We ate a well prepared lunch of sushi, trail mix, Naked Juice, water, Terra chips, mission figs and Snyder's oat bran organic pretzel sticks....does Lanna know Joe?! With a walk down the bunny trail to the falls...spectacular.
From there, a trip to Ceasar's Head and Bald Rock....at about 2000 feet up, how could I not stand in awe of the Lord and His creation....looking over Ceasar's Head at a blanket a green tree tops....making....it....... hard......to...... breathe. Listening to the thunder echo off the rocks we were standing on, hearing the crows in the valley below....awesome.
Back to the house, and reality.....for less than an hour. Time for round two....back in the car headed toward Greenville. This time Lanna comes wielding a blindfold....yikes, giving up complete control. A few traffic tie-ups and a series of unfortunate turns...she opens my door, with my feet on the ground....ok, no more being blind. Why....hello Ronnie, Vickie, Casey, Melissa and Steven!!! It took me a few minutes to realize where I was (more like ten). Frankie's Fun Park....YEOW!!! With the blackened clouds above, we went inside to see what was available. Due to weather, no outside activities....wait, here comes.....hello Gill and Eddie!!!! We'll delay our fun to go eat. Mmmmm, Brixx. Waiting for a table big enough for Jesus and His disciples....wait, who goes there.....hello Tavaras, Justin and Rhett!!! After a great deal of laughter and expression-filled stories, time to go back to Frankie's.
Laser Tag, racing games, games of chance, and 847 tickets later.....it's fun acting like a child of the world. It was getting late...and we started our departure. Wait, how about some Starbuck's and one more rain storm??
I praise Jesus for each one of you who were there last eve. If you love something enough, you'll let it go....and God-willing, it will come back to you. In the mean time, I pray that you seek out another you can show your awesome love to.

"I'm takin' what they're givin' 'cause I'm working for a livin'"

How was your day at work? TANGENT!! Ever wonder why you're NOT doing your dream job? I'll turn the question inward and say that I don't do mine because I'm not that familiar with the birds; the dream job of mine would be a bird handler...to hoist a raptor on my arm and watch him spread his wings....and then fly back to me.....wow.
I say all this about jobs, because...TOMORROW IS MY LAST DAY OF WORK!!!
Working at Lollis for the past two and a half years, I've seen many changes in my work. I went from working at Michelin full-time as a welder/fabricator's helper (thanks Big Fred), to having a field work position. When I accepted Christ a year and a half ago, He changed my work as well. I've become much more aware of details, and also my temperment has changed (read Ecclesiastes). "Is it really worth it?", "Does it really matter?"...those types of questions came to mind.

Colossians 22-25 (The Message) "Servants, do what you're told by your earthly masters. And don't just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you'll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you're serving is Christ. The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being a follower of Jesus doesn't cover up bad work."
Just remember who you work for kids, and praise Him for the ability He gives you.

One Nation Over God

We've kicked Him out of our school's, because we might offend somebody...yet we wonder why the school system's are in trouble. We've stopped displaying His commandments, because we might offend somebody....yet wonder why there are so many problems with society. We've (fill in the blank), because we might offend somebody....ever thought of God's wrath in all of this, that it might meant to be offensive to some? Romans 1:18-19 (KJV) "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against al ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them." Continue putting Jesus in a box and see how much harder He fights to get out!!!

"It looks like a.... good day to run..."

Oh yeah...went for a run this morning...about six miles through the wilds of Anderson...around the Civic Center, the reclycling center, "balloon hill"(my favourite spot), the back forty of the Sports Complex, ran the steps at Sea Largo, past the "like" Mall (for sure), to the front forty of the Civic Center. Shake time-Frozen Blackberries, Strawberry Whey (wha-hey) Protein, an Orange, and some Skim milk....DYNOMITE!!
Running is my release point, it helps me to clear my mind. Speaking of which, my buddy Sandy showed me this the other day which helped me define a little more why I run..... 1Peter 4:7-"The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray"(NIV). I praise God for the ability to run and to have that time with Him. What's your release point? I encourage you to find whatever brings you closer to Jesus and do it more often.
